Refund policy

This policy explains when a book purchase or a lesson fee paid to Ehsan Hajialiasgar can be refunded, and how. Payments are made only by Zelle inside the US or by bank transfer with Wise from outside the US.
Books
Payments by Zelle and bank transfer are final. A book purchase is refunded only if:
- the book file is faulty or cannot be opened, and I cannot send you a working copy within a reasonable time;
- you paid more than once for the same book (the extra payment is refunded);
- the link to your book never reached you.
Please make your request in writing to [email protected] within 14 days of your payment, from the email address you used in your order.
Private lessons — cancelling before the first lesson
- At least 72 hours before the first lesson: the full term fee is refunded.
- Less than 72 hours before the first lesson: the price of one lesson, at the regular rate, is kept and the rest is refunded.
Example: a term of twelve 60-minute lessons at the regular rate of $150 costs $1,800. Cancelling 48 hours before the first lesson: $1,800 − $150 = $1,650 is refunded. This is an example; the actual rate is announced at enrolment.
Private lessons — cancelling after the term has begun
The lessons already held, plus one more lesson, are charged at the regular rate; the rest of the term fee is refunded.
Example: you paid $1,800 for twelve 60-minute lessons and cancel after the fourth lesson. Four lessons held plus one lesson make five lessons at $150, which is $750, so $1,800 − $750 = $1,050 is refunded. This is an example; the actual rate is announced at enrolment.
Discounts
A discount on the term fee is given on condition that the whole term is completed. If you cancel, every lesson is counted at the regular rate.
Example: with a 10% discount you paid $1,620 instead of $1,800. Cancelling 48 hours before the first lesson: $1,620 − $150 = $1,470 is refunded. Cancelling after the fourth lesson: five lessons at $150 are $750, so $1,620 − $750 = $870 is refunded. This is an example; the actual rate is announced at enrolment.
Lessons I cancel
If I have to cancel a lesson, it is rescheduled; if no new time can be found, that lesson is refunded at the price you paid for it.
How and when refunds are made
Refunds are made only on written request to [email protected], by the same method you paid with: a Zelle payment is returned by Zelle, and a Wise payment by bank transfer to the account it came from.
Refunds are sent within 14 business days of an accepted request.

If something has gone wrong, please write to me first. Most problems can be solved quickly by email.
Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer right that the law does not allow to be waived.
